KCAO News Briefs: October 8 to 14

Domestic Violence Services

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and this week we’d like to spotlight the domestic violence services KCAO offers through Crisis Support Services.

A cornerstone of these services is the Barbara Saville Shelter. This sanctuary offers more than just a roof over your head; it provides a safe space for survivors of gender-based violence, including those who have experienced physical, sexual, emotional, or economic abuse.

  • KCAO also offers legal assistance, specifically in obtaining restraining orders to help ensure your safety.

  • Additionally, we provide counseling services to help you navigate the emotional complexities that come with surviving abuse.

  • If you're faced with legal proceedings, our team is there to accompany you to court, providing moral and informational support.

And for those immediate, pressing concerns, we have a Crisis Line available for immediate help and resources. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, or human trafficking, help is just a phone call away. Reach out to our 24-hour Crisis Hotline at 1-877-727-3225.
