Parental Choice Child Care: Parents can choose the type of care and specific child care provider that they feel best meets their family needs. They can pick a licensed child care center, a licensed family child care home, a before/after school program, a legally license-exempt provider such as a relative (a grandparent, aunt or uncle) or a friend or neighbor.

California Alternative Payment Program (CAPP)

The California Alternative Payment Program provides subsidized child care services for low to moderate income families. Parents must be working, enrolled in training towards a vocational goal, physically or mentally incapacitated (as verified by a doctor), seeking employment.

  • CareConnect - For Enrolled Families and Providers

    Submit attendance records and documents for both families and providers.

  • Calworks Stage I, II and III

    KCAO CalWorks (Stages I, II and III) is a parental choice subsidized childcare program that serves children 0-13 years.

  • Child Care Initiative Project

    CCIP offers specialized training and technical assistance to providers that are interested in becoming providers or to providers in the process of becoming licensed.

  • Resource & Referral

    Helps parents find quality child care, gives information on childcare subsidy programs and provides technical assistance to child care providers.

  • Community Resource Center

    Provides a variety of resource materials, supplies, digital picture printing, posters, flyers, invitations, decorations and items for the classroom.

  • Toy Lending Library

    Loans toys, books and instructional videos to licensed child care providers and is also equipped with materials for child care providers to use in their home or daycare facilities.

  • Child And Adult Care Food Program

    Provides reimbursement for food served to small groups of children receiving nonresidential day care in private homes that are licensed, registered, or approved to provide family child care.

  • TrustLine

    California’s registry of in-home child care providers, tutors, in-home counselors, and child care staff at ancillary Child Care Centers who have passed a background screening.

  • Emergency Child Care Bridge Program for Foster Children

    Helps foster parents with immediate access to quality, and affordable subsidized child care as they move through the California Department of Social Services.

  • Home Visiting Program

    HVP supports health and well-being of pregnant and parenting individuals, families, and infants in poverty. It enhances their future opportunities and chances of leaving poverty.
