Summer Food Program

The KCAO Summer Food Program (SFSP) provides children 18 years of age or younger of low-income families with nutritious meals during the summer months from June to August.

The meals provided to participants are free of charge and must comply with federal nutrition guidelines. The guidelines require that appropriate servings of milk, meat, fruit, vegetables, and grain be included in each meal.

SFSP is provided in various locations throughout Kings County.

  • In Avenal at the Avenal Recreation Center.

  • In Kettleman City at the Ketteman City Family Resource Center.

  • In Stratford at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

  • In Lemoore at Lemoore College and Lily of the Vally Church.

  • In Hanford at Brilla la Luz De Jesus, Home Garden Opportunity Center, Koinonia Christian Fellowship, Longfield, and the Storybook Garden.

With the help of our partners, we can assist our community this summer.

Our goal is to ensure that children who receive free or reduced-price school meals can get the nutrition they need when schools are closed for summer, which will help bridge the gap and provide consistent access to healthy food.

For more information about the program, please call the Summer Food Services Program at (559) 583-8071 or visit the webpage.
