KCAO News Briefs: Donation Campaigns

Community Champion Campaign

Join the 2023 Community Champion Campaign organized by KCAO! This year, we're excited to partner once again with James G. Parker Insurance Associates for the fifth consecutive year. Our goal is to raise a total of $12,000 for the Barbara Saville Shelter. This includes $6,000 raised by the community and an additional $6,000 matched by this year’s Community Champion, James G. Parker Insurance Associates.

The campaign runs from November 13, through December 31. Your generous donations will help fund meals, cover operational expenses, and support shelter improvements at the Barbara Saville Shelter. To contribute, please visit KCAO.org/Donate

Shoe Drive for Oasis Head Start

KCAO is excited to announce our Children's Shoe Drive, aimed at bringing warmth and comfort to the children at the Oasis Opportunity Center in Avenal.

Our mission is to collect 50 pairs of shoes tailored for each child in the preschool program, ensuring every child receives a new pair of shoes this winter. We will collect shoes from November 8th through December 8th. The Home & Energy Department will hand-deliver the wrapped shoes to each child on December 15th. We are seeking donations of new children's shoes in various sizes, as listed here. You can drop off your contributions at 13549 Hanford-Armona Rd., Armona, between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday from November 8th through December 8th.

For those unable to drop off, please contact Tara Retherford at (559) 572-1773 or tara.retherford@kcao.org to schedule a pick-up. Monetary donations are also welcomed and will be used to purchase additional shoes. You can make donations online at KCAO.org/Donate or in person at the KCAO Main Office, 1130 N. 11th Ave., Hanford. Make a note on your donation “Attention: Shoe Drive Campaign.”

Please spread the word and help us ensure the children in our preschool program in Avenal have a new pair of shoes this winter.
