KCAO Community Garden

The KCAO Nutrition Education and Hunger Prevention Community Garden reduces the impact of food deserts, allowing greater access to nutritious food, which is necessary to live a healthy life. Fresh fruits and vegetables from the harvest are accessible to Home Garden community members in need.

Our Community Garden features 16 garden beds and nine fruit trees. It is open to the community Monday through Friday, 7:00 A.M.- 4:30 P.M. Our goal is to sustain growth and harvest fruits and vegetables throughout the year.

The garden, however, demands substantial upkeep. Daily watering of the garden beds and monthly weed removal are essential tasks to maintain its appearance.

Come and join us; it’s a great way to socialize and meet neighbors while sharing common interests.
