Grant Award from The Starbucks Foundation

Last week, KCAO joined Starbucks in celebrating the dedication of the Starbucks Community Store at Lacy and 11th Avenue in Hanford. The event honors the store, our vibrant community, and the incredible contributions our partners have made and continue to make to our community.

During this event, KCAO was awarded a grant from The Starbucks Foundation.

Thank you to the Starbucks partners (employees) at Lacy and 11th Avenue in Hanford and The @Starbucks Foundation for recognizing how we are making our communities stronger.

This grant award is thanks to nominations from local Starbucks partners who recognized the work of KCAO. Through this unique program, The Starbucks Foundation invites Starbucks partners and alumni to nominate a local organization in their community.

Since 2019, more than 13,000 grants have been awarded to local organizations, amounting to more than $20 million. KCAO was selected from among 33,000 nominations submitted by Starbucks partners earlier this year.

We are grateful for our community's Starbucks partners who actively volunteer to support the KCAO Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) during monthly food distributions. Your dedication to combating hunger in our community is greatly appreciated.

A huge thank you to the Starbucks partners (employees) who put us forward. We are thrilled that our local Starbucks partners nominated us; it is truly an honor.

Block Party

We want to extend our gratitude to our community members who joined us at the KCAO Summer Block Party event on June 28.

Our goal for the KCAO Summer Block Party was to strengthen the community and offer vital resources and educational materials. At the event, KCAO collaborated with Valley Voices to promote Vaccine Equity and held an on-site vaccine clinic. Additionally, KCAO departments were present to educate the community about KCAO Services and facilitate Head Start enrollments.

KCAO partnered with various organizations, including CCLS, Grid Alternatives, Kings County Behavioral Health, Anthem, Family Health Care Network, and Kings United Way. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at our next event.
