Final News Brief for the Year

This week’s News Brief will be the last one for the year. KCAO is in the process of creating a new vision for News Briefs.  

KCAO started doing News Briefs on June 14, 2023, and has had over 2500 views from social media platforms since its inception. We appreciated the viewership and envisioned informing you of what is happening weekly. The team at KCAO are happy with the results, but we want to try a new way to bring you updates. We will relaunch the News Briefs in January 2025 with a new look and feel.    

Final News Brief updates for the year:

• Be on the lookout for a groundbreaking event for The Head Start Clay Center.  

• The Sunrise Apartments will house 22 individuals and have a grand opening this fall.  

• KCAO has a few grants pending that would add additional beds for individuals experiencing homelessness in the upcoming months at existing facilities.  

• The new Food Bank Service Center will house the KCAO's newly located food bank, create a centralized kitchen for KCAO programs and other community programs, and provide an overnight shelter that will house an estimated 180 individuals experiencing homelessness. 

• We also have some new and existing fundraisers planned for 2025, with proceeds going to the Barbara Saville Shelter. This touches the surface of some of the great things KCAO is doing to make our community a better place to live.
