Child Care Initiative Project (CCIP)

CCIP offers specialized training and technical assistance to providers that are interested in becoming providers or to providers in the process of becoming licensed. Licensed providers may be eligible to participate in training if applicable. The CCIP workshops are designed to assist the potential small business owner (licensed home facility) to learn all aspects of business ownership. Classes are designed based upon guidelines from the Child Development Division of the California Department of Education.

The California Child Care Initiative Project (CCIP) increases the supply of family child care homes by:

  • Recruiting individuals to become licensed family child care providers

  • Assisting providers enhance their family child care environment

  • Assisting providers with the licensing and fingerprinting process

  • Providing training on child development, health, and safety, and family child care business practices

  • Providing technical assistance, retention support, and ongoing support
