The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

Kings County Food Distributions

TEFAP distributes about half a billion dollars in USDA Foods each year through food banks across the country. The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is a federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans by providing them with emergency food assistance at no cost.

We currently have distribution sites located in Hanford, Kettleman City, Corcoran, Lemoore, Stratford and Avenal.

Please only pick ONE location from the city you reside in.

Note: Kettleman City, Stratford and Koinonia will have a different date for their second distribution from their regular distribution date in May (every third Thursday for Kettleman City and Stratford and every third Friday for Koinonia).

TEFAP eligibility

To be eligible for USDA TEFAP commodities, recipients certify under penalty of perjury that they meet the TEFAP Income Guideline of 235 percent of current Federal Poverty Level. This program is one of the last safety net programs available to people who are in desperate need. TEFAP ensures there are no added barriers to receive the assistance beyond the self-attestation of income.
