Group Connection Meetings

The Early Head Start & CalWORKs Home Visitation Program provides two Group Connection Meetings a month for 90 minutes each. These are available to Head Start and CalWorks families.

These are socialization sessions families can participate in. Through group connections, parents learn how to support their children's learning by participating in group activities that allow parents to engage with one another, while children benefit from learning, socializing, and resource sharing.

The theme for the group connection recently was Color Delight, the concept of color identification through a range of activities. These activities are designed to enhance large and small muscle strength, promote problem-solving skills, facilitate speech, and improve hand-eye coordination.

We also include a parent advisory meeting following the sessions. Community professionals join us to provide insights, resources, and activities during these sessions. This month, we welcomed a Citibank representative to enhance parents' understanding of financial literacy and assist them in achieving their financial objectives.
